Our long, hot Hawke’s Bay summers provide the perfect backdrop for lazy outdoor entertainment within a distinct winery setting,” says Ms Bevin.

With seven months worth of top quality events the calendar takes us right through to autumn 2011, with a number of local wineries playing host to big name performers but also a large offering of quality events on a smaller scale, showcasing some of our local favourites.Big names Sting, Crowded House, and Anika Moa are all locked in for concerts at Hawke’s Bay wineries throughout the local months, as well as old local favourites The Beat Girls and The Top Twins.

A brand new event is Meet the Makers being held at Beach House Wines in Te Awanga on Sunday 28 November. A dozen small boutique producers who do not have their own cellar doors, are getting together to share their wines with the public.

Now in its seventh year, Chill Pill has changed venues and will this year be taking place at Sacred Hill in Puketapu. A regular fixture on the Summer Calendar, the relaxed afternoon of sunshine, wine and fantastic music is programmed to take place at least once a month, with a final two sessions in April.

Black Barn is again offering the popular open air cinema screenings with film showings scheduled for the two weeks either side of the New Year.
